SEARCH AND RESCUE

A search and rescue drone is an unmanned aircraft used by emergency teams  (such as police officers, firefighters or volunteer rescue teams) and are ideal for searching over vast areas for missing persons and crime victims in need of rescue and in any environment.

Seatography Maritime Commercial Services (part of Seatography Ltd) want to be able to aid local emergency services with a rapid response ability and be able to deploy drones with SAR capability to save lives - it's that simple!

In the UK, the Coastguard employs over 1,000 staff with 3,500 Coastal Rescue Officers (CROs), many of them unpaid volunteers, who patrol the coastline, cliffs and seas around the British Isles.

Coastal rescue teams around the shores of Great Britain – and abroad – have been trialling the use of drones to assist them in their operations. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are increasingly being added to the Coastguard’s air fleet to aid in SAR activity. In 2019, the UK Coastguard performed seven SAR helicopter missions a day, saving the lives of 1,600 people.

It is worth noting that implementing drones in SAR operations it’s not just about saving the lives of those in need. It’s also about minimising the risks to the first responders that bravely put their own lives on the line. By using drones to remove the need to send people into potentially hazardous areas, you’re not only saving time and money but also the rescuers themselves!

We are looking to fund a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual set-up which features: thermal imaging, high-powered sport lighting, a loud speaker and beacon. At a relatively low cost of under £3,000 we can be assisting with saving lives very soon and you can be part of that journey.
